| Don’t spend another night in a doorway
or hiding from the park patrols. Yeah, maybe it was okay last night,
but… lots of teens have learned the hard way that it only takes
one bad night to change things forever. Or even worse, to erase all
your tomorrows.
To find a shelter, complete the form below and you’ll get
a list of the places nearest to you that have space tonight. And
if you need a ride, the FMSS Touring Toyota will come and get you.
No preaching, no questions, just your ride. Simply call 1-800-Get
Me Now (1-800-438-6366). You don’t need any money to call
this number from a pay phone. Note: Don't worry that there are 8
letters in the "Get Me Now" phone numer - you don't need
to dial any number for "w" (the 8th letter) and even if
you do, the call will still go through. |

| Covenant House also has an emergency 94-bed shelter.
You’ll get clean clothes, meals and help getting back
on track if you want it. Click

Life on the streets:
Sean tells it like it is |
|
|
|
These kids all had different
reasons for leaving home. All were different ages when
they left. And all had different experiences. The one
thing they have in common is a shared sentiment: “I
don’t want to be homeless for the rest of my life.”

| “Home
was hell, so I left. City street life made home
seem like spa-living.” |
Jessie left a verbally-abusive
father and alcoholic mother and headed for T.O.
What she found was worse than what she faced at
home.
Hear how Jessie climbed back up from rock bottom. |

| “My face was pretty
and my butt was cute – now I just feel like
they helped to break me.” |
When his stepdad hit
on him, Steve hit the streets. Weeks later, out
of school, hope and money, Steve started turning
tricks. He was cute; it was easy. All too easy.
A few months later, HIV positive, skinny and dispirited,
Steve wanted to turn things around – and did.
Here’s Steve’s story. |

| “I got so tired
of it; I felt like a stray dog that people got tired
of feeding” ~
former Covenant House resident |
“Jane” was
living in foster care and being treated like an
unpaid slave. Things got really bad when she told
her school Guidance counsellor that the oldest son
had started “acting weird”. The result
was trouble at “home”. Running to her
birth mother only made things worse. Jane’s
foster family then refused to take her back saying,
“You’re like an old couch with too many
stains on it.” Jane then ended up at Covenant
House and things started looking up.
